Toyota Australia has recorded yet another strong month of sales in June with 20,225 sales, taking its half yearly total to 120,978 deliveries to customers, according to the official VFACTS data.

With a strong order bank and forthcoming upgrades to models including Corolla Cross, Toyota expects continued strength in the market through the second half of the year.

Toyota leads the market for the first six months of the year in all three passenger, SUV, and light commercial sectors with a total market share of 19.4 per cent (combined result)

In passenger car year-to-date sales, Corolla and Camry continue to lead their respective segments by a large margin  ( with 33.4 per cent and 58.1 per cent segment shares respectively) while in the SUV segment, RAV4 (20.9 per cent segment share), LandCruiser Prado (21.7 per cent segment share) and LandCruiser 300 Series (55.0 per cent segment share) continue to be Australia’s favourites.

Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley said the strong first half yearly sales would continue with very healthy forward orders across all model lines which underlined the company’s confidence in it’s sustainable sales strategy.

“Toyota dealers are our people on the front line and the investment they have made in maintaining Australia’s largest and capable network of sales, parts and service outlets across the country continues to pay dividends in delivering long-term customer care and service,” Mr Hanley said.

“At the same time, our shift to an all-hybrid range of passenger vehicles and urban-oriented SUVs, except for our GR performance cars, has proven popular with customers.

“At Toyota, we are committed to a multi-pathway approach to decarbonisation, providing appropriate powertrains for different applications and will further that with the introduction of new options including our first ever plug-in hybrid that will be available in the all-new RAV4 early next year.

“It’s all part of building and maintaining the trust of our customers and delivering outstanding customer service, which we believe is vital for a successful sustainable  future in the Australian automotive market,” Mr Hanley said.
