Toyota Australia’s most focused and dynamic GR Supra to date, the flagship Track Edition, will arrive in local dealerships in July priced from $105,295 plus on-road costs1, boasting a host of visual and performance upgrades which enhance the performance of Toyota’s flagship rear-drive coupe.
The new Track Edition joins the existing GT and GTS grades, pushing the dynamic capabilities of the GR Supra even further with multiple under-the-skin changes designed to hone its performance.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley said the GR Supra Track Edition raises the excitement of an already dynamically-focused vehicle.
“TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s aim is to produce ever-better sports cars for customers to enjoy, and the GR Supra Track Edition is proof of that,” Mr Hanley said.
“The Track Edition has all the making of a future classic, with exclusive enhancements which are sure to put a smile on the faces of those who drive it.”
The Track Edition hones the dynamic underpinnings of the GR Supra platform with the addition of a larger front anti-roll bar, aluminium brackets for the front and rear anti-roll bars, reinforced rubber bushings for the front control arms and a stiffer rear subframe mount.
A stiffer rear subframe mounting and rear underfloor bracing with revised fixing points further stiffen the chassis of the GR Supra Track Edition, while a negative adjustment to the front camber combine with the suspension upgrades to ensure handling and steering feel is tighter and more responsive than ever.
Reprogrammed control mapping for the electric power steering and rear limited-slip differential have been implemented to match the upgraded suspension components, while upgraded 374mm front brakes help improve stopping power.
Along with the chassis upgrades, the GR Supra Track Edition is differentiated from the rest of the range by 19-inch matte black alloy wheels and red painted brake calipers, front and rear wheel arch aero flaps, upgraded front tyre spats and a carbon fibre ducktail spoiler.
Inside, the Track Edition uniquely gains red seat belts, black Alcantara2 upholstery with embroidered GR logos on the headrests, and on manual grades, a red ring around the shift knob.
Along with the eight solid, metallic and matte exterior paint colours offered across the GR Supra range, the Track Edition is also exclusively available with the new matte black colour for a sleek look.3
Available with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission, the GR Supra range is underpinned by a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine outputting 285kW from 5800-6500rpm and 500Nm of torque from a wide rev band of 1800-5000rpm.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels, aided by a limited-slip differential and 50/50 weight distribution which helps to give the GR Supra its classic front-engine, rear-drive coupe driving dynamics.
